Even before the USA, Canada took an important step in September 2021: After almost a year and a half of a corona-related entry ban, vaccinated people from all over the world have since been allowed to enter Canada again. The exact rules have changed several times since then: Corona test before departure yes/no, random tests on arrival, etc.

Soon, travellers won’t have to worry about that any more. The Canadian government has announced that effective October 1, 2022, all of these regulations will be abolished. This means, among other things:

  • Even people who are not fully vaccinated may enter Canada
  • A travel registration via ArriveCAN is no longer necessary
  • There is no longer the risk of being selected for a randomized arrival test

At the same time, the mask mandate on planes, trains and airports will also be lifted. However, wearing a mask is still recommended.
