Star Alliance member Singapore Airlines currently sells discounted tickets in all travel classes from numerous European destinations. One particularly interesting fare is the one to the Maldives, a notoriously expensive destination. The carrier takes you from Catalonia to the islands for just €400, a fare that includes a checked bag up to 25 kg and famously good board service.
The catch of this offer is that you have to put up with two stops in each direction (one in Milan, one in Singapore) and the fact that you aren’t exactly going the shortest way: Singapore Airlines expects a total travel time of approx. 23 hours each way.
