Hotels of the IHG group are currently charging up to 25% less for stays in Japan until the end of December 2022. Since the promoted rate can be cancelled for free up to 7 days before your stay, this makes quite an interesting offer as prices for Japanese hotels are sure to increase heavily once the nation reopens its borders – and if it doesn’t, you’ll simply get your money back.
The promotion runs until May 30, 2022 for stays before December 29, 2022.
IHG runs the following brands and chain hotels:
All promotional stays are qualifying stays, members will earn points and benefits. The bookings can be cancelled free of charge up to seven days before your first night.
You will find the discounted rates on portals like booking.com, as well. Only the member discount for IHG Rewards Club members is exclusive to IHG’s website. Feel free to use our search form below to be redirected to IHG’s booking site:
Knowing that the promotion was going to start today, we looked up a few prices before the sale started to see if there really was a price drop or if IHG would pull the popular trick of simply increasing the price of the Best Flexible Rate.

This promotion comes with decent prices and a lot of flexibility. The free cancellation allows you to book a room now and hope to save a lot of money once Japan reopens its borders. And should the price even fall, you can simply book the same room again and cancel the earlier reservation without losing any money. This is an overall great offer – should you also find a refundable flight to Japan.
