Mauritius Island: €393 for Alitalia Flights From Italy (incl. 2 Bags)

Alitalia aircraft
valid

SkyTeam airline Alitalia is currently selling very cheap full-service economy class flights from Venice and Bologna to Mauritius Island for only €393. What stands out in this incredibly cheap deal, is that you can take 2 pieces of luggage on your trip, and also other benefits such as seat selection are included, which is rare for European airlines nowadays. Sadly, availability is quite limited.

The flight times are practically identical for Venice and Bologna

From Venice/Bologna you would fly to Rome, from where an Alitalia Airbus A330 will fly you to Mauritius Island for almost 11 hours. Alitalia’s economy class includes meals and drinks and has recently gotten good reviews, this one for example.

Search & Book

This deal is valid until September 23, 2019. The minimum trip length is set at 4 days, and the maximum at 1 month. Google Flights offers the easiest way to find available dates. You can then find the cheapest fare with our Travel-Dealz flight search, or simply book directly at alitalia.com. Booking the flights on Alitalia’s website will however cost you roughly €25 more.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend to book with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

  1. Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airlines has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward you information like flight changes instead receiving them directly from the airline. You may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem solving.

This especially applies for premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.
  2. Baggage Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are more and more common. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

To make things easier for you, we’ve compiled an availability calendar, showing all available dates for trips of 6 – 11 days. For longer trips, use Google Flights.
