Miles&More Extends Status for Another Year

Miles&More status holders started the week with a nice email in their inbox. This morning, Miles&More announced that no status will expire in February 2022, because it will be extended by one year for everyone.

If you still succeed in requalifying this year, you have the advantage of keeping the status for two years. This may be relatively easy, as you’re getting double status miles on flights with the Miles&More airlines until December 2021.

It can therefore be worthwhile to strive for requalification this year, despite the free status extension. Should, however, the travel restrictions or your own schedule not allow this, at least you no longer have to worry about losing your status.

Conclusion

The fact that Miles&More announced this regulation in August instead of waiting until the end of the year is definitely a positive thing. The incentives to extend your status this year are still quite good because next year it will probably not be as easy as this year. Nevertheless, this year’s requalification is no longer a must, and that will certainly please many.

What about the upgrade vouchers. Will they extend one more year??

I suppose that they will, but Miles&More has not yet mentioned that. This will probably be part of the email that Miles&More has announced, where further details will be given.
