Wonder of the Seas: 14 Nights on the World’s Largest Cruise Ship from Barcelona to Florida for €1,493 pp + Tips (Balcony Cabin)

In May, the Wonder of the Seas – the largest cruise ship in the world – had its first trip to Europe. When summer is over, it’s heading back to Florida. This cruise is currently available at the best price yet if you wish to stay in a balcony cabin. While you can get the inside cabin for €1,317 and the outside cabin for €1,482, the balcony cabin only costs very little more, its current price being €1,493 – per person. Full-board service is included.

Gratuities are not included but are optional. You are free to tip as much as you like, but don’t forget to inform them if and how much you want to tip, as you’ll otherwise be charged the standard of US$14.50 (~€13.41) per person and day.

Note that the cruise is only open to fully vaccinated people. Individual shore leave is basically possible again but also depends on the regulations of the individual ports.

You get full-board service with breakfast, lunch and dinner (some speciality restaurants are excluded) as well as cold and hot water, coffee and tea with meals. All cabins have double beds, which can also be converted to single beds if required. There is an extensive program of events and entertainment (also for children).

The Ship

The Wonder of the Seas was built in 2022. With a length of 362 meters and a height of 70 meters, the ship can accommodate approximately 5,700 passengers and 2,300 crew members.

The ship has 22 restaurants, 2 pools, a spa and fitness centre, a solarium, an ice rink, a surf simulator and much more. In the evening there are all sorts of entertainment programs with acrobats, musicians or comedians. There is also the green open-air area “Central Park”.

Flights

There are various options to get to Barcelona, e.g. with easyJet from Paris and Milan, Air Europa from Madrid, Ryanair from London, Naples, Kraków, Manchester, Palma, Edinburgh, and Dublin, Vueling from Rome, Berlin, Venice, Prague, Florence, Porto, Munich, Malta, Athens, Vienna, Málaga, Valencia, Nice, Amsterdam, Dubrovnik, Zürich, Santorini, and Seville, TAP from Lisbon, Wizz Air from Budapest, SAS from Copenhagen, Norwegian from Stockholm, Lufthansa from Frankfurt, Flyr AS from Oslo, or Finnair from Helsinki. Prices range from €20 to €160, depending on the route and airline, with a general average of roughly €65.

Miami airport is a good choice to fly back, as there are numerous airlines flying to Europe from Miami, such as American Airlines to Madrid and Barcelona, Virgin Atlantic to London, Air France to Paris, ITA to Rome, TAP to Lisbon, SAS to Copenhagen, Lufthansa to Munich and Frankfurt, and SWISS to Zürich. The cheapest option is usually flying with ITA for roughly €410.
