Star Alliance member Thai Airways offers discounted roundtrips from six European airports to Bangkok as low as €480 for a roundtrip from Oslo. All fares include a checked bag up to 30kg and Thai’s outstanding board service.

€480 is not bad for a nonstop flight on a premium carrier.

Search & Book

The fare rules give the expiration date of March 20, 2020 for flights from Scandinavia. The offer from Italy expires as late as April 2021. However, this offer can run out of availability earlier. As of now, Oslo shows the best availability.

You have to stay at least three days at your destination and may not spend more than one month in Thailand. Further, these fares are restricted to certain travel periods:

  • April 20 – June 25, 2020
  • July 25 – November 30, 2020

Entry & Visa

Most EU citizens do not need a visa for stays up to a length of 30 days. The entry permit can be extended by another 30 days before expiration by local immigration authorities.


The national currency of Thailand is the Baht (THB) which is divided into Satang. One Euro is about 40 THB.

From the airport to the city center

Suvarnabhumi Airport is connected to the city center by train. Trains run between 06:00 and 23:59 approximately every 15 minutes and the journey takes 24 minutes. A taxi ride costs about 400 Baht and takes, depending on the traffic, 30 minutes to more than an hour.
