Royal Caribbean‘s Symphony of the Seas will be in Europe next Summer after cruising from Miami to Barcelona. That transatlantic cruise is very cheap currently, with inside cabins starting at £417 (~€485) per person. Outside cabins are only a little more at £438 (~€510), but balconies aren’t much more expensive at only £547 (~€636).

Update

Since our last update, the inside and outside prices lowered, while the balcony cabins became a bit more expensive.

The fare includes full board dining with 22 restaurants, nine of them free including buffet and seated options. The price includes all taxes and fees, although not tips. On Royal Caribbean, the automatic tipping is US$16 (~€15) per day per person (US$208 (~€194) for the whole cruise per person). If you are not happy with your service, you can adjust the tip or decide to tip individual employees instead.

Info

Vaccinations and testing are no longer mandatory for Royal Caribbean as of writing. You can find more details on Royal Caribbean’s website. We recommend checking it frequently before the cruise as requirements can change.

The ship will depart Miami’s port on March 9, 2023, and will only stop in Málaga before reaching Barcelona on March 21, 2023.

  • March 9: Miami, USA (16:30)

The Ship

When completed, Symphony of the Seas was the biggest cruise ship in the World. It got outranked this year by her sister ship, Wonder of the Seas. Of course, it has the basics every ship has, but everything is a little better/bigger here. They don’t only have a huge theatre, they have an AquaTheatre and a Studio too. They don’t only have a water slide, they have the tallest water slide on a cruise ship in the World. It doesn’t only have a promenade, it has a central park and a little funfair.

As mentioned above, there are 22 restaurants, and nine of them are free. There is a Sugar Beach with 160+ types of candies, robot bartenders in the Bionic Bar and many other delights.

Going back to the entertainment, you can play laser tag, break free from the escape room, slide down through a zip line, try out skydiving on this ship.

These are how the cabins look like on a smaller ship, Vision of the Seas:

Flights to Miami

We suggest at least one buffer day before your cruise so that you won’t miss your ship in case something goes wrong.

Oneway flights to the USA are usually unreasonably expensive. It is usually cheaper to book a round trip and to simply let your inbound flight expire. The only exception is low-cost airlines, such as Norse Atlantic. They offer the following flights:
