Dubai: £975/€1,153 Swiss Or Lufthansa Business Class from London

Swiss Boeing 777 Business Class Privacy Seat oben

Star Alliance members Lufthansa and Swiss offer an interesting fare for premium tickets from London Heathrow and London City airport to Dubai. You can find round trips for as little at £975 (~€1,138) for the entirety of 2022. The fare includes priority ground services, lounge access and two long-haul flights between Frankfurt or Zurich to Dubai in a lie-flat seat.

Info

These tickets are not refundable if you cancel them. To change flight dates, you’d need to pay the fare difference, but at least the rebooking fee is waived.

Worldwide travel restrictions are in place to slow the spread of Covid-19. We strongly recommend gathering detailed information about the travel and quarantine restrictions that apply to your desired origin and destination.

A good start is the International Air Transport Association (IATA) website. It provides current updates on a country’s immigration policies. Even better, the Covid-19 Travel Regulations Map is one of the most useful tools you can find.

Our availability calendar shows you all flights below €1,200 (~£1,028) for trips up to 28 days. Until March 2022, the cheap tickets are only available on Swiss’ website. From April onwards, you can also search on Lufthansa’s website.

Until March 2022, Lufthansa deploys Boeing 747-400 on the long-haul segments. Swiss schedule sees a Boeing 777-300ER operate flights to the United Arab Emirates. After March, both airlines use Airbus A330-300 to connect their hubs to the Arabic peninsula.

Premium Cabins

There is no question that Lufthansa’s and SWISS’ premium cabins are among the upper half worldwide. Our author Dennis tried both business class products – you can get a glimpse of what you can expect here:

The fare rules offer no travel or sales period for this deal. A minimum stay of six days or one night from Saturday to Sunday applies. You can find flights for the entirety of 2022, available is very good.

Google Flights previews these fares reliably. We strongly recommend booking directly on Swiss’ or Lufthansa’s website.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.

All tickets will be issued in booking class P. Depending on the carrier and your frequent flyer program you will receive a different amount of miles. Here’s what a trip with Swiss via Zurich can get you on Star Alliance programs:

you need to test and quarantine when traveling abroad from UK, innit?
    thanks to omicron

    • Felix says:

Hi Stefan, travelling FROM the UK isn’t an issue yet. Travelling TO the UK requires a test and quarantine. Since the travel period for this deal is pretty long, the rules will most likely change again at some point in 2022.
