The Polish Star Alliance member LOT is currently selling very cheap business class flights from Riga to Beijing. LOT’s business class comes with many usual advantages, but also with a very generous baggage allowance of 3 x 32 kg. Availability can be found all year round.

Update

This sweet deal is still around, and we’ve recently seen a significant drop in price, making this offer even better!

Great price and the flight times aren’t bad either.

From Riga, you would fly to Warsaw. Usually, you can choose if you want a short or long layover in Warsaw, for the same price. As Warsaw’s airport is very small, even with a very short layover you’ll usually catch your connecting flight without any major problems. If you dislike any kind of stress, you can opt for the longer layover and enjoy LOT’s lounge, which is very good, or even take a bus for only roughly €1 (you can pay with a credit card in the bus, itself) and explore the Polish capital. You can even stay in Warsaw overnight. It’s your choice!

The long-haul flights are, as always with LOT, operated with a modern Boeing 787 – Dreamliner. However, LOT only flies to Beijing on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, and returns on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Mondays.

Search & Book

This fare is most likely based on availability. The fare rules only state the restrictions, that your trip has to be at least 5 days (or a Sunday) long, and not exceed 12 months.

Google Flights is the best tool to find available dates. Once you’ve found them, you’ll save some money if you book through our Travel-Dealz flight search. Booking directly via lot.com is also possible, but costs a bit more.

Miles

All flights are issued in LOT’s booking class F. That will get you the following number of miles for the roundtrip:

  • 15,446 Award Miles + 480 Points on Miles&More
  • 13,996 Miles on Ethiopian ShebaMiles
  • 12,288 Miles on Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles

LOT Business Class

On their Boeing 787 Dreamliners, LOT’s business class features three rows in a 2-2-2 formation. These seats all face forward and can be converted into fully flat beds. The service in LOT’s business class is extremely friendly and the food is also very good. Main points of criticism have been the lack of privacy and that the seat lacks good storage options for laptops or similar items.
