Wyndham Rewards: Buy Points with a 40% Bonus + Higher Limit

Wyndham New Yorker Zimmer

At Wyndham Rewards, the loyalty program of the hotel chains Wyndham, Ramada, Super 8, Travelodge (in North America), … you’ll currently get a 40% bonus on the purchase of 3,000 points or more. The offer is valid until April 20, 2023 and you can purchase up to 120,000 points (+ bonus) instead of the usual maximum of 60,000 points as part of the promotion.

To buy the points, you have to click on the following link (and click on Purchase points):

For example, typically 10,000 points cost US$130 (~€120). With the 40% bonus, the price drops to US$92.86 (~€85.63).

Not too long ago, all award nights at Wyndham Rewards cost 15,000 points, so points could be very valuable for expensive hotels. That has changed: there are now three categories with 7,500, 15,000 or 30,000 required points.

Conditions

The offer is valid until April 20, 2023 on all point purchases between 3,000 and 120,000 points. You’ll have the points in your account max. 72 hours after the purchase. The transaction will be processed in USD, so make sure you have a credit card with a 0% foreign currency fee.

Redeeming Wyndham Points

Wyndham Rewards free nights either cost 7,500, 15,000 or 30,000 points. Alternatively, there is also the possibility of a Points&Cash booking starting at 1,500 points, which could be very interesting.

Wyndham’s hotels across the world are divided into the following categories:

  • 7,500 points: 1,932 hotels
  • 15,000 points: 5,961 hotels
  • 30,000 points: 481 hotels

An overview of all hotels with the option of filtering by the number of points required can be found here.

For trips to North America, it’s also worth looking at redemptions with Vacasa. Similar to Airbnb, various holiday homes and flats are rented out. Many one-bedroom units can be booked for as little as 15,000 Wyndham points per night. In Hawaii, for example, the equivalent of 2 cents per point can be achieved. Unfortunately, booking and availability inquiries are only possible by telephone. You can read helpful tips for redeeming with Vacasa at Frequentmiler.

Alternatively, you can also convert Wyndham Rewards points into miles, but the ratio is not very attractive (6:1.2).

Redemption Example

Not only the cheap hotels are attractive, but you can also save a lot at expensive hotels. For instance, a La Quinta Inn in Downtown Seattle would charge you US$491 (~€453) on the weekend in the summer. In the meanwhile, purchasing the required 30,000 points would only cost you US$279 (~€257), saving you over US$210 (~€194) per night.
