Vancouver: €406 Oneworld Flights From Germany (With Luggage)

Vancouver Skyline Canada

Cheap flights to Canada’s west coast are an excellent find. Especially now, that Canada is expected to reopen its borders. And that’s exactly what British Airways and American Airlines are offering: discounted economy class seats on round trips from Germany to Vancouver. Prices start as low as €406, including luggage.

Info

With American and British Airways, you can rebook all flights without a rebooking fee. The difference between the old and the new flight price, however, will have to be paid. You can also cancel bookings made with BA. You will then receive a voucher for the amount of the flight price, which can be redeemed for travel until September 2023. More about it here.

Availability is good from September until December 2021.

You can depart from the following airports:

From Germany, British Airways will first fly you to its hub in London Heathrow. Then your journey to Canada will continue – usually on board an Airbus A350. Layover times are rather short, so your trip should generally take around 14 hours, give or take. If you’re flying from Frankfurt, you can also choose to fly with American Airlines via Dallas.

The fare rules state that this deal will expire on August 15, 2021. As always, we’d recommend booking as soon as possible, since there’s no guarantee that this cheap fare will last long. The offer is valid for trips commencing between August 30 and December 17.

The minimum stay requirement is of 6 days or just one night from Saturday to Sunday. But since we are assuming that you’d like to stay longer: 3 months is the maximum that this fare allows for. Don’t forget to get your eTA!

All connections will be displayed on Google Flights (instructions). You should then book directly on the airline’s website, such as britishairways.com

Mileage

The booking class in which these tickets will be issued is booking class O. Not too many miles that you can earn, but the rate is still 25% on most frequent flyer programs. Here’s what you can expect for a British Airways round trip from Berlin via London:

Information & Tips for Vancouver

Vancouver is the largest metropolitan region in western Canada and a comparatively young city that has got a lot to offer! Stanley Park and Coal Harbour attract many visitors every year and Vancouver is also a great starting point if you want to explore the Canadian Rocky Mountains.

Best Time to Visit

Vancouver has one of the mildest climates of any major Canadian city. The winters (December to February) are very rainy, snow is – untypical for Canada – rare. The best weather for tourism is from late July to mid October, when the days are comparatively warm and dry.

From the Airport to the City Center

The SkyTrain will take you to the city centre in about 25 minutes. A ride costs about 6€ (airport -> city) or 2,60€ (city -> airport). With a taxi you need just about half an hour at prices from 17€ to 20€.

Tip: Take a Seaplane Tour!

In many regions of Canada the seaplane is a common means of transport. Vancouver has its own seaplane terminal right at the Olympic Cauldron in the city centre. A short sightseeing flight (duration 20 minutes, of that approx. 10 minutes in flight) over Vancouver can be had for 95 Canadian dollars (approx. 62€). For 129 CAD (approx. 84€) there are longer flights with 20 minutes of air time which go all the way up to the North Shore Mountains. In addition, daily trips are offered e.g. to Victoria on Vancouver Island or one can also take part in the famous Mail Run. The largest seaplane operator at the Vancouver Harbour Flight Centre (IATA code: CXH) is Harbour Air. In addition, Seair Seaplanes also offers cheap sightseeing- and scheduled flights. Kenmore Air even flies between Vancouver and Seattle.
