Oman Air Business Class

Oman Air’s Boeing 787 Business Class offers a great experience in terms of privacy and luxury. Even on the seven-hour flight to Paris, they offer meal service twice. Each seat has its own compartment and is advertised by Oman Air to be the longest Business Class seat in the world. They are fully reclinable to a lie-flat position. You can read a review for an Oman Air Paris to Muscat flight here.

Although, most Oman Air flights to Germany are onboard the Airbus A330. While they are in a 2-2-2 configuration, each seat has direct aisle access thanks to them being Apex suites. You can enjoy privacy thanks to separator walls between suites. You can read a review of the A330 cabin here.

The feeder flights are operated by Lufthansa’s A320 family aircraft. Eurobusiness means standard Economy seats with a blocked-out middle seat. You will probably get a hot meal, although Travel-Dealz editor Miklós did not receive a hot meal on his flight from Frankfurt to Helsinki due to “catering issues”.

Search & Book

Lufthansa did not set an expiration date, meaning the fare can expire anytime. You need to spend six nights or a Saturday night in Muscat. You can travel between May and July 2023. Availability is very good in this period.

The best way to look for flights is to use our availability calendar above. It will forward you to Lufthansa’s website where you can book your flights safely. Booking through OTAs doesn’t worth it since you can only get it €4 cheaper at max. You can filter down dates using Google Flights.

Why is booking with an airline better than with an online travel agency?

More often than not, online travel agencies offer lower fares than airlines do. We still recommend booking with the airlines directly. There are two main reasons for that:

Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airline has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.

If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward information like flight changes instead of receiving them directly from the airline. In many cases, you may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem-solving.

This especially applies to premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong.

Baggage and Other Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are industry standard by now. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.

This also applies to other things like food services, insurances or priority treatment. In almost all cases, you pay less for additional amenities when booking on the airlines’ website.

Mileage

Both Oman Air and Lufthansa issue tickets under booking class P. This is what you would get for a flight connecting in Frankfurt. Connecting in Munich would get you a bit less mileage.

Just booked BUD-MUC-MCT-BLR and return in Lufthansa and Oman Air Business for just over 2000€ return.
While not so much for the Mileage collection, a great value for a flight to India in Business Class.
