The MSC Fantasia sets sail from Trieste in early November and heads towards Brazil. She is on the road (or sea, actually) for a total of 17 days, and you can sleep in the balcony cabin for €1,019 per person. Full board and tips are included. If the inside cabin is enough, it starts at €809, while the outside cabin is available for €929 – each price being per person.
It is best to read the current MSC Cruises regulations regarding Covid on the ship in advance. You must have proof that you have been vaccinated or have recovered. Individual shore leave is possible again but depends on the regulations of the ports.
MSC cruises can be changed flexibly for cruises until March 2023, but a fare difference may apply.
You get full board service with breakfast, lunch and dinner (some speciality restaurants are excluded) as well as cold and hot water, coffee, tea and milk with meals. All cabins have double beds, which can also be converted to single beds if required.

The MSC Fantasia was put into service in 2008 and is 333 meters long and 38 meters wide. The ship can go up to 23 knots fast. There are several outdoor pools, an aqua park with water slides, and various bars and restaurants. A total of up to 3,300 guests can be on the ship. There is also a theatre, cigar lounge, spa, kids club and casino. So you won’t get bored that quickly.
There are regular flights to Trieste with Lufthansa from Frankfurt, Ryanair from Valencia, Naples, and London, and ITA from Rome. Expect to pay between €40 and €210 for your flight to Trieste, depending on where you’re flying from.
TAP is the only airline to fly from Salvador to Europe (Lisbon). Depending on where you’re trying to get to, expect to pay between €550 and €930 for your flight back (unless you catch a great deal until then). Business class prices start at €1,030 (e.g. TAP to Barcelona).
Of course, it all depends on how long you want to spend there beforehand and/or afterwards. In any case, we recommend that you take a flight that arrives early – if you don’t get to the ship on time, you’re out of luck.
