LATAM Business Class to Belo Horizonte, Brazil for €1,337/£1,179 from London

Neue LATAM Business Class Boeing 777

Virgin Atlantic is currently offering cheap tickets for business class flights with LATAM to Belo Horizonte in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. Departing from London, these tickets are available starting at €1,337 (~£1,141) if you book through an online travel agency. Availability is good from August to December 2023. Outbound and return flights are via São Paulo, where stopovers are also possible. Sadly, we were not able to find any connections including stopovers. It also seems that there are very little options to earn any miles with this ticket.

You can also simply use the following form to be forwarded to our Travel-Dealz flight search to find the cheapest OTA price or to Virgin Atlantic (about €115 (~£98) more expensive). We have marked availability in green for you:

First, a Boeing 777 will fly you for almost 12 hours to São Paulo. The onward flight will then take place in planes from the Airbus A320 family. All flights are operated by LATAM.

Information & Tips for Brazil

Brazil is probably the country in South America that is most frequented by tourists. Whether it’s the carnival or the Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro or touring the Amazon, visitors will get their money’s worth here.

Traditionally, flights to South America and Brazil from Europe are quite expensive, but since a few years, there are increasingly cheap offers, especially with Iberia and TAP.

Best Time to Visit

Brazil is a vast country – so there is no such thing as an overall best travel time. It all depends on what you want to see. It is best to visit the cities of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo autumn and spring while the dry season fort the rainforest is from May to September.

Entry & Visa

EU citizens do not require a visa for stays of up to 90 days and can enter with a passport only. Note that, similar to the USA, that after your first stop in Brazil your luggage must be collected and brought through customs. Calculate accordingly when booking a connecting flight.

I used this route as my route to/from Brazil as it was cheaper than many economy routes during carnival! Plenty of cheap route options beyond CNF if wanting to go further afield although I’d recommend at least a day or two in the city or surroundings. Really liked Latam’s onboard product without being blown away – good food, nice crew, decent lounges in LHR and GRU (inbound only), but I thought the seat was very impressive in both terms of space and comfort. Some more mid-flight snack and drink offerings would’ve been appreciated over the course of 11 hours however.

All that said, managing this ticket was a nightmare. I had to directly contact Latam via Twitter to get my seats selected, which only 1 of 4 selections seemed to be saved in their system. The VS codeshare seems to trip up Latam systems all the way through. Check-in for the return flight in CNF took 4 agents nearly 30 minutes to process, resulting in us running for the flight to GRU. Don’t get me wrong it’s an insane deal, just don’t expect too much!

Did this trip last month and thought LATAM has a great hard and soft product. Most of my domestic Brazilian flights were on time unlike BA. Sadly you don’t get Virgin Atlantic lounge access at Heathrow. Instead they use the BA galleries business lounge which was fairly good, though got a bit crowded for about an hour before a 777 departed to JFK. The layover time in São Paulo was a bit rushed as with the evening bank of international flights departing late evening, transfer security from terminal 2 to 3 had a very long queue, though cleared it after 3pm in.made the LATAM lounge visit a bit rushed. No mid flights snacks at all until breakfast. I took a few small snacks of board with me

Is this confirmed that it gives Miles at any program? As far as I know, when VS and LA started this codeshare agreement, it was not possible at all to get miles at ANY program if you have a VS flight number, operated by LA (which was ridiculous).

I am flying this tomorrow and can choose between VS, LA and DL to credit, but I do not know if I will get any miles at all.

    • Ditmar Lange says:

I looked into this, and you’re right. It seems that all programs only give miles to VS flights operated by VS or themselves. And LATAM, the operating airline, doesn’t seem to give miles for VS flights at all. DL seems to be the most unlikely to give you miles (though it’s a strong partner of both airlines). I would guess that VS is the most likely to give you miles.

  4. Andrew says:

You won’t be able to credit this to Delta as it’s a codeshare.

  5. Peter Trapmore says:

How many Virgin Tier Points would this give please

  6. Peter Trapmore says:

Cant seem to get it to price with stopover in Sao Paulo, any assitance would be appreciated.
