Phuket, Thailand: €1,366 KLM Business Class From Amsterdam

Phuket, Thailand

SkyTeam member KLM is currently offering business class flights to Phuket in Thailand at a cheap price. Departing from Amsterdam from January until May 2021, you can fly to the south of the country for prices starting at €1,366. You’ll have one layover in each direction.

Worldwide travel restrictions are in place to slow the spread of Covid-19. We strongly recommend gathering detailed information about the travel and quarantine restrictions that apply to your desired origin and destination.

A good start is the International Air Transport Association (IATA) website. It provides current updates on a country’s immigration policies. Even better, the Covid-19 Travel Regulations Map is one of the most useful tools you can find.

You’ll always either have a layover in Bangkok or in Kuala Lumpur. Your connecting flight will be operated by Bangkok Airways or Malaysia Airlines. Sadly, that short connecting flight is often in economy class (especially when flying via Bangkok) but at least that flight is merely an hour long.

How to get to Amsterdam

Schiphol International Airport, located in Amsterdam is the largest airport in the Netherlands. With over 50 million passengers a year, it is the fourth largest airport in Europe and KLM’s home base.

Amsterdam is easy to reach by car from the Benelux countries as well as from Denmark. Alternatively, you can also travel to Amsterdam with Flixbus.

On the long-haul flight, you’ll be flying in a Boeing 787 Dreamliner or in a Boeing 777. Here’s what you can expect from KLM’s long-haul business class:

According to the fare rules, this fare is going to continue to be available until November 19, 2020 for trips between January and May 2021. Availability seems to be highest, however, until February. The minimum stay requirement is of only a single night, while the maximum has been set at 3 months.

The flight times are really good as well

You can find suitable dates using our availability calendar above or by using Google Flights. You should then book the flights on Air France‘s or KLM‘s website.

The booking class is O, meaning that you can roughly expect the following mileage to be credited to your account:

  • 12,082 Miles on Delta SkyMiles
  • 12,082 Miles on Aerolineas Argentinas Plus
  • 6,042 Miles on Virgin Atlantic Flying Club

Information & Tips for Phuket

Phuket is a southern province and also the largest island of Thailand in Southeast Asian. While Bangkok is more of a tourist destination, Phuket offers a lot of recreational options on the beach and is located in the Indian Ocean rather than the Gulf of Thailand.

Although Phuket is not always as easy to reach as Bangkok and it will often take an additional layover to get there, you can combine your beach holiday with a city trip to Bangkok. You can first book your flights to Bangkok and then separate (cheap!) flights from Bangkok to Phuket if you really can’t find a good deal from Europe.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to travel is from November to February. During this time it is dry and comparatively cool but of course still ideal for a beach holiday. The rainy season runs from mid-May to October.

From/to the airport

From the airport to different cities/resorts on the island, it is best to take a taxi (or Uber). Bus connections are cheaper but also much slower.
