SkyTeam carrier Kenya Airways offers low priced Business Class tickets for flights from Amsterdam to Mauritius & Johannesburg in South Africa and Mahe, the main island of Seychelles. Prices start at 1,305€ for roundtrips to Mauritius. Johannesburg and Mahe are a little more expensive.

Business Class flights to Mauritius do not get much cheaper.

You’ll typically have a layover in Nairobi. Kenya Airways operates a Boeing 787 Dreamliner on their routes between Amsterdam and Nairobi as well as Nairobi to Johannesburg. These feature lie-flat-seats in a 2-2-2 seating pattern up front. From Nairobi to Mahe or Mauritius you’ll be on board of a narrowbody jet with a dedicated business class cabin – a Boeing 737-800 (2-2 seating) ar an Embraer 190 (2-1 seating).

According to the fare rules, this fare can be booked until September 24, 2019. It is valid for the following travel dates:

  • Today until December 13, 2019
  • January 12 until May 20, 2020

There are no minimum stay requirements, but you’ll have to leave your destination after a maximum of 3 months.

South Africa is the touristically most visited country in the south of Africa. Whether its Safaris, tours of wine regions or the Table Mountain – visitors won’t be disappointed!

Traditionally, flights from Europa to South Africa have been quite expensive. In recent years however, airlines such as Iberia, Egyptair and British Airways have been offering cheaper and cheaper flights – even in premium cabins! Best Time to Visit

South Africa is a huge country and therefore doesn’t have a single best time to visit. It really depends on what you want to see. The cities Johannesburg and Cape Town have the best weather in Fall (March – Mai) and Spring (September – November).

Immigration & Visa Requirements

If you have a valid EU passport and a valid return ticket, you will be given a visitor’s visa with a validity of 90 days. Turn to the ministry of foreign affairs of your country for more information.


The currency used in South Africa is the Rand (ZAR). One Euro are approximately 16 ZAR. Make sure to use a credit card that does not charge high fees for withdrawals or payments in foreign currencies.

Information on Seychelles

The Seychelles is an archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean off the east coast of Africa. There are numerous beaches, coral reefs and nature reserves as well as rare animals such as Aldabra giant tortoises. The capital Victoria is located on Mahé, the starting point for visiting the other islands. The island also offers rainforests in the mountains of the Morne-Seychellois National Park and beaches such as Beau Vallon and Anse Takamaka.

Best Time to Visit

The best times to visit Seychelles are April, May, October and November. These months represent the transition times between the hot and humid northwest trade winds (from November through March) and the cooler southeast trade winds that define April through October.

Entry & Visa

Most EU citizenss do not need a visa. A permit for the duration of the trip will be issued upon arrival at the border. It can be extended for a further three months up to one year.
Passport, return flight ticket, hotel booking and sufficient financial means (approx. US$ 150 per day) are required for entry. Checks on entry can be made, funds can be carried in cash, traveller’s cheques or credit cards.
