Star Alliance Connecting Partner Juneyao Airlines is offering cheap non-stop flights from Helsinki to Shanghai starting at €409. Although our screenshot below shows a price of €378, unfortunately the price adjust to €409 when you follow one of the links to an online travel agent. The price is still great for non-stop flights including checked luggage of up to 23kg.
Juneyao Airlines will operate this route with one of their new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. The economy class cabin will feature a 3-3-3 seat configuration and makes a very nice impression. However, there doesn’t seem to be an economy class review online yet.
Search & Book
The fare rules do not give much details about an expiry date or applicable travel dates. However, we expect this fare to be available only a few days. The minimum stay requirement is 2 days. You can stay for a maximum of 1 month.
Unfortunately, Google Flights doesn’t display this fare. Your best bet is to use our Travel-Dealz search and swipe through the dates and see if you can anything suiting.
Mileage
The tickets are issued in booking class K. Since Juneyao is only a Star Alliance Connecting Partner and this booking class is a promotional fare, there is no mileage accrual in this case.
Hotels
The hotel standard in China differentiates from our European hotel standard. It is mandatory for you to compare reviews, prices and location, in order to minimise the risk of unpleasant surprises. We would recommend using booking.com for that:

Information & Tips for Shanghai
Shanghai is the most important financial and commercial center of China. But not only business travelers are welcome here. Also, regular tourists can get there money’s worth. And this is great because the city is connected to many major airports and therfor we’ll often present you with good deals for flights to Shanghai.
Best Time to Visit
Since Shanghai is located in a subtropical climate zone, spring and autumn are the best travel times thanks to moderate temperatures and a few rainy days. April, May, September, and October are particularly suitable for a visit to the Chinese city thanks to the low rainfall and humidity.
From the airport to the city
Shanghai Pudong Airport is located 40km east of the city center. Probably the fastest and most exciting method is the Maglev. The magnetic levitation train takes only 7 minutes, and with costs of around 5€ it is also a rather inexpensive (and of course faster!) alternative to a taxi, which would cost about 20€.
