SkyTeam member ITA Airways offers a free date and time change for flights between September 8 and November 30, 2023, if you book before April 3, 2023. The promotion includes all travel classes but, only if ITA operates all flights.
Changing destinations is also possible, but according to limitations and it may incur a fee. Prices within the travel period are currently more or less the same as in the months before or after, meaning you are not victim of a silent increase with this offer.
The promotion promises one free change of date or flight time. Usually, when airlines use a phrasing like this, it means that the incurring fees are waived. You would still have to pay the fare difference between your old and new flight. According to the airlines’ hotline, the fare difference is also waived as long as you get a flight in the same booking class. The wording on the promotional page does not mention the fare difference at all.
You’ll need to allow cookies on ITA’s site for the correct change conditions to appear. At first, it will show the wrong amount, then within seconds, it will change to “One free change”.

- You must allow cookies and pop-ups in your browser.
- Applies only to bookings on ITA Airways’ website.
- You can change your ticket once.
- The promotion only applies to itineraries where all flights are marketed and operated by ITA Airways.
- Changing the destination must be within the same network sector (domestic -> domestic, international -> international, intercontinental -> intercontinental).
- If the same booking class isn’t available for the new booking or a new fee would apply, you’d need to pay the additional fee.
Bottom Line
This deal is definitely interesting if you are planning a trip for in Autumn. As there is no price difference for the travel period, the only possible downside (the urgency to book) is equated by the flexibility ITA offers.
