Travelzoo is once again offering a great hotel deal. This time, you can buy vouchers for a junior suite at the Hotel Palace in Berlin. You’d be staying in a room of 45–55 m² in a great location for merely €179 (+ 5% tax). These vouchers also include breakfast, parking, and a 10% discount on room service. This is an excellent price for a rate that often costs roughly €500.

Info

This deal is available on the French Travelzoo website. If you don’t speak French, we recommend that you use a browser that can translate the site for you. Once you’ve bought the voucher, you’ll be able to view it on the English Travelzoo site as well. Redeeming the voucher at the hotel is also possible in English.

These vouchers have to be redeemed for the following travel periods:

  • Before February 7
  • February 11 – March 7
  • March 12 – May 1

You can redeem the vouchers by simply calling the hotel or by sending an email. If you wish to stay more than one night, simply buy multiple vouchers. If you don’t end up using these vouchers, you can simply return them for a full refund. Should you already have redeemed the voucher, you can cancel the reservation up to 7 days before arrival.

Hint

If you’re unsure about how many nights you’re going to stay, simply buy a few extra vouchers. Once you’ve decided, you can just get a refund for the ones you bought in excess.

You can also stay in a Business Deluxe room for €156, including breakfast, on the German Travelzoo site. Parking, however, would no longer be included. If you’re travelling by car, it makes no sense to take this deal instead of paying a bit more for a junior suite + a parking spot. Otherwise, you might want to consider it.

The Hotel

The Hotel Palace Berlin, located next to the zoo, is a legendary 5-star hotel. Many celebrities have already stayed at this hotel, such as Claudia Schiffer and Tony Blair. The hotel offers an indoor pool, among other amenities. Your junior suite will have big windows, a living area, an extra-large bed, and a luxurious bathroom.

The hotel has gotten very good reviews, earning it TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice in 2021. Most guests mention the large, clean, and modern rooms, and their good TVs, as well as the location, with the city center, restaurants, sights, stores, and bars being within walking distance, as well as a good connection to the public transit network. Lastly, many have also complimented the friendly and professional staff (especially at the front desk) and the swimming pool.

The hotel’s location is very good, as it is located in Charlottenburg – a neighborhood with elegant pre-war buildings and many chique boutiques. It’s a very upscale place to be, as you can stroll along the Kurfürstendamm (Berlin’s shopping boulevard) and then head to the Charlottenburg Palace and its beautiful park. It’s really a great place for tourists to stay, as there’s a lot to see there, as well as many restaurants. And thanks to Berlin’s good public transportation system, you’ll be able to get anywhere within minutes, e.g. the Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag Building, and the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe are all only a 15-minute bus ride away.

Price Comparison

Generally, you’d already be paying roughly €170 for the smallest room, and that’s neither refundable nor does it include breakfast. A junior suite usually costs roughly €410. If you book the flexible rate with breakfast, the price even goes up to roughly €500!

€504 for a night in April

Of course, the prices vary a bit depending on the date. You may, for instance, be paying €10 less in January. But generally, it can be said, that you’ll be saving at least 60%, often more.
