Hawaii: €1,745 Business Class roundtrips from Stockholm, Oslo, Gothenburg

Lufthansa Business Class

Various Star Alliance members team up to bring you discounted Business Class flights from Scandinavia to Hawaii, start at a €1,949 roundtrip fare from Stockholm to Honululu. All flights include two layovers – one in Europe and one in America. The hook is that only flights between Europe and California offer a long haul Business Class cabin. However, this is either United Polaris or Lufthansa‘s five-star product.

Skyteam carriers KLM and Delta have a similiar offer for flights in late July and August 2019, starting at €1,745 for flights from Stockholm to Honululu.

Other Islands like Maui at €2,003 are part of the Deal as well!

Smooth connections and reasonable price: All you can ask from a Business Class trip to Hawaii.

Inner European flights are operated either by Lufthansa or SAS in ther Airbus A320 family aircraft. You’ll fly Lufthansa Business Class or United Polaris across the Atlantic. Sadly, either United or Air Canada 737 family plane will fly the last leg between America and Hawaii. This results in a Domestic First Class experience instead of a proper long haul Business Class.

Search & Book

Fare rules state that your minimum stay in Hawaii has to be at least seven days long and may not exceed one year. Further, they give four specific travel periods for transatlantic segments:

  • June 27 – September 4
  • November 18 – November 30
  • December 19 – January 5 (Christmas and New Year’s Eve!)
  • April 12 – April 22

There is no statement how long this offer is available.

Since Google Flights displays these fares accurately, the best way is to look for travel dates there (instructions). You can use your results to find the cheapest fare on skyscanner or buy your tickets directly at a Star Alliance’ carriers homepage like lufthansa.com. When buying Business Class fares, we usually recommend the latter. It is safer and gives you the opportunity to talk to the airlines if any problems arise.

Since ticket issuing and operating airlines vary greatly, it is hard to make an accurate statement about mileage. Tickets are issued mostly in booking class P. The following example is given for a Lufthansa issued ticket from Stockholm to Honululu with stops in Frankfurt and San Francisco. Please be aware that your personal mileage harvest might be a lot different:

  • 28,450 on LATAM Pass
  • 28,450 on Air China PhoenixMiles
  • 22,090 on Singapore KrisFlyer
  • 17,670 on Copa ConnectMiles
  • 17,670 on United MileagePlus
  • 17,660 on SAS EuroBonus
  • 16,920 on Air Canada Aeroplan
  • 13,870 on Miles & More
  • 12,370 on ANA Mileage Club

Information & Tips for USA

The USA offers many sights, natural wonders and cultural significance. Thanks to numerous airlines offering flights across the Atlantic, it is always pretty inexpensive to get there. Alternatively, you can also cross the Atlantic by boat.

Immigration, ESTA & Visa Requirements

The USA has one of the strictest entry regulations in the world. Most EU citizens citizens, among others, are lucky to be able to participate in the so-called Visa Waiver Program. If you get an electronic entry permit (ESTA)  for about 12€, you don’t need a visa for entry.

Best Time to Visit

Due to its sheer size, the perfect time to visit the USA varies greatly from region to region. In winter, Florida is very popular due to the mild temperatures. In the summer the West and East Coasts are flooded by tourists which drives up the prices for hotels and flights and during the Indian Summer in late autumn New England is a very popular destination. The hurricane season between July and September can be dangerous in the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico. Florida and the southern states are regularly struck by these tropical storms. Blizzards occur from the East Coast to the Midwest during the winter months and regularly put air traffic and public life on hold.

The US dollar is widely used throughout the world and accepted as a currency in most tourist hotspots worldwide. That being said, carrying cash isn’t necessary in the US, all you need is a credit card! These are very common in the USA and are accepted pretty much everywhere without any issues. If you already have a credit card in your wallet, you should make sure that it does not charge a foreign currency fee if possible. Carrying a few dollars in cash doesn’t hurt though. You might need cash e.g. for the bus ticket if you want to buy it directly from the driver. Most of the time you even have to give exact change.
