Until mid-April, the 5-star Fairmont Le Montreux Palace in Geneva is charging much less than its usual exorbitant price, asking for €374/night for a non-refundable rate. There is, however, a much better deal: By booking through ASMALLWORLD, you’d pay €414, but would get breakfast for 2 (worth CHF 40 (~€41) per person) and US$100 (~€93) to spend during your stay. Furthermore, this rate would be fully refundable, and you’d also get a room upgrade (worth roughly €90 per night).

This price is available on many dates until mid-April 2023. You can try out a few dates using our search form below, which will redirect you to ASMALLWORLD. If you don’t have one already, you’ll need to create an account, but don’t worry, it’s completely free, and the site can be fully trusted – we’ve tested it ourselves for our own private bookings.

You would officially be booking the Deluxe room with a city view (either with a king bed or twin beds), but would most probably be upgraded to one of the Fairmont’s rooms that offer a view of the lake. These rooms tend to cost €90 to €140 more than the city view room.

Montreux is cold until February, with temperatures usually ranging between -1 and 5 °C. In March and April, you can already expect temperatures between 4 and 13 °C on most days. Luckily, this region is mostly sunny all year long.

The Hotel

The Fairmont – Montreux Palace is an elegant 5-star hotel with large rooms, a restaurant, and a gym. It’s also one of the few hotels in Montreux to offer 24-hour room service and a whirlpool. It’s also located very centrally, with sights such as the GoldenPass and the Freddie Mercury statue being within walking distance. Both inside and outside the hotel, you’ll have plenty of entertainment options, both day and night.

Previous guests have left very good reviews, many praising the small but outstanding spa, the proximity to the lake, the superb atmosphere, and the quiet rooms. Merely the expensive parking (CHF 45 (~€46)) has been criticised in a couple of reviews.

The hotel is located by the lake, which is one of the best locations in the city. Many sights are close by, such as the Casino Barrière and the Queen Studio Experience, which are less than a 15-minute walk away.

Price Check

This hotel is usually far more expensive. In August, for instance, the absolutely cheapest refundable rate costs about €470, without breakfast and without a lake view. A rate with breakfast costs at least €50 more.

€520 is the absolute cheapest price you’ll find in August for a refundable rate with breakfast.

The benefits of booking through ASMALLWORLD should be clear anyways. For just €40, you get breakfast for two (worth CHF 80 (~€82)), an upgrade (if available, worth at least €90), US$100 (~€93) to spend at the hotel during your stay, and a refundable rate (worth roughly CHF 35 (~€36)). Even if you don’t spend the hotel credit and don’t get an upgrade, it’s fair to say that ASMALLWORLD charges €40 for a rate that brings benefits worth roughly CHF 115 (~€118).
