At 5895 m above sea level, Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain massif in Africa and a popular destination. Lufthansa & Eurowings Discover are currently offering tickets to Kilimanjaro Airport for €344 starting from Billund or, at a slightly higher price, from Copenhagen. If you are not keen on starting from Nothern Europe, flights are also available from Brussels.
The price only includes hand luggage, while the fare with luggage is available for around €100 extra. You can travel from April to June 2024.
A rebooking is possible for a fee of €100. However, the price difference will also have to be paid.
To book the flights, simply select the desired travel dates and click on the blue button. We will then forward you to Lufthansa’s booking site. We have highlighted the cheapest dates with a maximum stay of 28 days in green.
As a rule, you’ll first fly to Frankfurt with Lufthansa. From there, a Discover Airlines Airbus A330 will take you to Kilimanjaro with a stop in Mombasa. You probably don’t have to leave the plane. The legroom is 76 cm.
Search & Book
Unfortunately, the fare rules do not state an expiration date. Availability is good from April to June 2024. The minimum stay is 6 days or one night from Saturday to Sunday, and according to the fare rules, you can spend a maximum of 12 months at the travel destination.
You can find suitable dates quickly and easily with the help of Google Flights (instructions). The tool displays prices from Brussels and Billund roughly €100 more expensive than they actually are, you have to set some extra filters to find flights from Belgium. You can then book directly on Lufthansa’s website.
Mileage
The tickets are issued in booking class K. As Eurowings Discover isn’t part of any alliance, you don’t have many options:
- 2,372 Award Miles + 474 PQP on United MileagePlus
- 1,136 Award Miles + 280 Points on Miles&More
- 250 Points on SAS EuroBonus
- 238 Miles on ANA Mileage Club
- 198 CV Points on Vistara Club Vistara
Destination
Hotel prices in Kilimanjaro usually start at roughly €160 – €170, depending on the hotel category and the specific dates. Whichever category and hotel you opt for, make sure to get the best price! Our recommendation is to search on booking.com, or even on our own Travel-Dealz hotel search:

The United Republic of Tanzania is a country in East Africa and probably best known by tourists for the semi-autonomous region Zanzibar. But also people that are into game drives will get their money’s worth in Tanzania since it is home to 4 big national parks. There really is no right or wrong time to visit this well-loved location. That said, the best wildlife viewing months in Tanzania are during the Dry season from late June to October. The best chance of seeing the wildebeest migration in the Serengeti is during June and July and the time to see the wildebeest calving is late January to February.
