Etihad Airways has put a nice price tag on its nonstop service between Rome and Abu Dhabi, selling tickets from Italy to the UAE for €141. This fare includes full board service, but surprisingly no checked bags. Those can be added for €48 on Etihad’s website. This fare requires your out- and inbound flight to happen before December 15, 2023.
If you want to explore the region a little further, you can add a roundtrip from Abu Dhabi to Kuwait City to your trip for just AED 395 (~€101).

Flights in September and October are available for €141, while prices in November jump to €151.
Add a round trip to Kuwait City for €100
In July and August, Etihad also sells tickets to Kuwait City for just AED 395 (~€101) + AED 120 (~€31) for cabin bags. You can combine those with the tickets from Rome to get a rather cheap impression of the Middle East. A Kuwaiti visa on arrival will add €10 to your travel plans.
You have to make two separate to get the cheapest fare. Booking a roundtrip from Rome to Kuwait prices out at roughly €600.
Etihad uses Boeing 777-300ER aircraft between Rome and Abu Dhabi, with a 3-4-3 seating pattern in the economy section. An Airbus A320 handles flights between Abu Dhabi and Kuwait City.

We have not been able to locate fare rules for these flights, therefore we cannot tell you how long this offers is going to last. It seems that all travel must be completed by December 15, 2023, to get the lowest fare. Your flight back to Rome has to arrive on that day.

Wie komme ich von Westdeutschland nach Rom?
Von Dortmund gibt’s sehr günstige Tickets mit WizzAir. Da lässt sich an ziemlich vielen Terminen ein Roundtrip für 32€ pP zusammenstellen, wenn man Topcashback mit Opodo kombiniert und jedes Wizz-Segment getrennt bucht

Hi Domenico! Der €165-Tarif umfasst Hin- und Rückflug.
Bzgl Ramadan: bin gerade von einem einwöchigem Trip in Abu Dhabi, Dubai und ein paar anderen Ecken in den Emiraten zurückgekehrt. Persönlich habe ich keine Einschränkungen gespürt. Museen waren regulär offen, Restaurants und Malls auch. Teils längere Öffnungszeiten, besondere geschmückte Beleuchtung und tolle Events. Essen und Trinken ist in der Öffentlichkeit verboten. Ich bin mir aber nicht sicher ob dies noch so streng gesehen wird. Selbst bei einer kulturellen Tour einer Moschee in Dubai wurde uns Essen und Trinken angeboten.
Die Einschränkungen im Alltag würde ich deshalb keineswegs als “streng” oder “sehr stark” bezeichnen.

Gibt es den Tarif “Sale” mit nur Handgepäck anstatt z.B. Tarif “Value” mit 23 kg schon länger oder ist das etwas neues bei Etihad?
Wie schon oben geschrieben, würde das ab Rom mit 23 kg Gepäck ca. 245 € kosten.
Hi Alfi! Der Sale-Tarif ist mir bei Etihad bisher einmal begegnet, bei einem ähnlichem Angebot mit Abflug von Athen im letzten Jahr (ATH-AUH €155 r/t). Scheint ein Sondertarif für Strecken zu sein, auf denen Etihad der ungarischen Konkurrenz von Wizzair gerne den Finger ins Auge stecken möchte.
Ja, der Tarif ist natuerlich als Antwort auf WizzAir gedacht. Trotzdem leicht komisch, da ja die Regierung des Emirats Abu Dhabi (Eigner von Etihad) auch ziemlich eng mit WizzAir in Abu Dhabi kooperiert.
Wieso ist das “komisch”?
Die Koorperation besteht im Sinne von, mehr Touristen ins Land zu bringen. Nicht im Sinne von “wir stellen jetzt um auf Planwirtschaft”.
Auch kann nicht von einer Kooperation die rede sein, sondern die Luftfahrtbehhörde in Abu Dhabi fördert einfach solche Aktionen, um mehr Touristen ins Land zu bringen. Das bedeutet aber nicht, dass Etihad und Wizz jetzt eine Firma seien. Die sind natürlich Konkurrenten und ‘kämpfen’ gegeneinander um Passagiere. Das hat für uns eben den genialen Effekt, dass man für unter 200€ mit Etihad nach AUH kommt.
Ich habe diesen fare selbst gebucht und bin letzte Woche zurück. Mit meinen 1,90m war die Etihad 777 jetzt kein schönes Erlebnis… aber dafür full service, alle mal besser als bei Wizzair
