LY AMS BKK €1494
The inbound trip has a long layover in Tel Aviv.

El Al operates Boeing 747 and 777 between Tel Aviv and Bangkok. These planes feature their old Business Class layout, so there won’t be lie-flat-seats available. Those can be found on their Boeing 787 fleet, that operates flights to London, Paris and Hong Kong. Some connections between Amsterdam, Milan and Tel Aviv are serviced by Boeing 737 aircraft. As a consequence, you’ll only find a narrow body Business Class cabin. These are usually not as comfortable as the premium cabins of long haul aircraft.

Mileage

El Al issues tickets in booking class J for both segments. Since the airline is not part of a major airline alliance, only a few of its partners will acknowledge mileage earned on these flights.

El Al’s Business Class

El Al’s premium cabin is subject to generally bad reviews. Especially aboard their Boeing 747 and Boeing 777 aircraft, they don’t offer amenities or technology that has become Business Class standard over the past few years. A prime example is the lack of lie-flat-seats. They’ve improved their Business Class greatly in their new Boeing 787 fleet. Unfortunately, most of the flights featured in this deal are not flown by these planes.
