New York City: €267 Non-Stop Delta Flights From Spain (€387 with Luggage)

new york waterfront park

SkyTeam member Delta Air Lines is selling its flights from Spain to New York at a very cheap price. Currently, the flights from Barcelona and Madrid only cost €267. Flying to New York from other Spanish airports is also possible for less than €300, however, that would be with KLM or Air France, and not non-stop.

Our calendar displays all available dates for the non-stop flights from Barcelona and Madrid, as well as for the KLM/Air France flights from Bilbao and Valencia. Simply select your preferred origin and dates, and with one click, we’ll redirect you to KLM’s or Delta’s website. Both charge the same price.

You can fly from the following airports:

Delta uses a Boeing 767 for its flights between Spain and New York JFK. If you’re flying via Amsterdam or Paris, you’ll have more plane types to choose from, e.g. an Airbus A330 or Boeing 787. Overall, it doesn’t matter at all, though, as the seats are basically the same on all three airlines and plane types.

Luggage is not included in the cheapest fare. However, all SkyTeam status holders can still bring 23 kg of luggage. Others would have to pay a surcharge of €120.

Search & Book

The flights can be booked until August 17, 2022. There’s quite high availability from October onward. The minimum stay requirement is one Sunday. Furthermore, your stay cannot exceed 3 months. This fare can’t be cancelled. You can, however, rebook these flights without having to pay a rebooking fee (though the price difference will still be charged).

Our calendar above displays all available dates, as does Google Flights. Depending on your personal preference, you can either book these flights on KLM’s website or Delta’s website.

Mileage

The number of miles may not only depend on the routing, but also on the fare that you select, as Delta SkyMiles doesn’t credit any miles at all for basic fares. Delta’s basic economy is issued in booking class E, while its Main fare and all of KLM and Air France’s flights are issued in booking class V. To give you an example, flying non-stop from Madrid in Delta’s basic economy should get you roughly:

  • 5,762 Miles on China Eastern Eastern Miles
  • 2,880 Miles on Aeromexico Club Premier
  • 1,790 Miles on MEA Cedar Miles
  • 1,790 Miles on Air Europa Club
  • 1,790 Miles on Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
  • 1,790 Miles on China Airlines Dynasty Flyer
  • 1,432 Award Miles + 20 XP on FlyingBlue
  • 716 Miles on Vietnam Golden Lotus Plus

From the airport to the city

New York City is served by three commercial airports: John F. Kennedy Intl. Airport in Queens (probably the most famous), Newark Intl. John F. Kennedy Intl. Airport

Public transport: From Manhattan by subway or LIRR to Jamaica (price varies from $2.75 – $10.00), continue with AirTrain to JFK ($6). Travel time 45 – 60 minutes.

Information & Tips for USA

The USA offers many sights, natural wonders and cultural significance. Thanks to numerous airlines offering flights across the Atlantic, it is always pretty inexpensive to get there. Alternatively, you can also cross the Atlantic by boat.

Immigration, ESTA & Visa Requirements

The USA has one of the strictest entry regulations in the world. Most EU citizens, among others, are lucky to be able to participate in the so-called Visa Waiver Program. If you get an electronic entry permit (ESTA)  for approximately €20, you don’t need a visa for entry.

The Best Time to Visit

Due to its sheer size, the perfect time to visit the USA varies greatly from region to region. In winter, Florida is very popular due to the mild temperatures. In the summer the West and East Coasts are flooded by tourists which drives up the prices for hotels and flights and during the Indian Summer in late autumn New England is a very popular destination. The hurricane season between July and September can be dangerous in the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico. Florida and the southern states are regularly struck by these tropical storms. Blizzards occur from the East Coast to the Midwest during the winter months and regularly put air traffic and public life on hold.

Currency

The US dollar is widely used throughout the world and accepted as a currency in most tourist hotspots worldwide. That being said, carrying cash isn’t necessary in the US, all you need is a credit card! These are very common in the USA and are accepted pretty much everywhere without any issues. If you already have a credit card in your wallet, you should make sure that it does not charge a foreign currency fee if possible. Carrying a few dollars in cash doesn’t hurt though. You might need cash e.g. for the bus ticket if you want to buy it directly from the driver. Most of the time you even have to give exact change.
