China Southern offers multiple nonstop services from London, destinations including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Wuhan and Zhengzhou. On the out- and inbound leg, you’ll have a layover at either of these airports. Flights to China and Australia are operated by various long haul planes like the brand new Boeing 787, Airbus A330 or even Airbus A380, the largest commercial plane ever built. Narrowbody aircraft handle most of the Asian connections.
Search & Book
All tickets must be issued until September 30, 2019, according to the fare rules. The offer is valid for outbound flights within in the following time periods:
- August 25 – December 5, 2019
- January 1 – March 26, 2020
- April 14 – June 26, 2020
Some destinations have more restrictive travel periods than others. Minimum stay requirements are either 6 days or one night from Saturday to Sunday, and your return flight must start no later than 3 months after your departure in London. Overall availability is pretty good, but mostly overshadowed by seemingly random blockout dates. These are dependent on destinations as well as possible connectiing aiports.
Google Flights (instructions) will help you find available dates for your trip. You can book directly on the airline’s website, but you will save around €40 by checking Travel Dealz Flight Search for prices that OTAs offer.
Mileage
Long haul tickets are issued in booking class N. Since China Southern is no longer a member of SkyTeam, there aren’t many options to earn miles. As a member of Sky Pearl Club, you can get 25% of the actual distance traveled.
