British Airways is currently selling cheap business class tickets – also to European cities that are further away from London, e.g. Istanbul, Cyprus, or Madeira. Thanks to this rather long distance, British Airways’ Executive Club will give you 80 tier points for each one of those longer segments. That makes this an attractive status run.
Please be aware that there might be some entry restrictions for some destination, and that your own country may send you into a quarantine when returning from your trip. This deal works for travel-dates until the end of March 2021.
If you’re not flying directly from London, you’ll get another 40 points for the feeder flight to London – adding up to a total of 240 tier points for the roundtrip. Here are some example prices for trips departing from Manchester:
- Sofia: £258 (~€300)
- Tirana, Albania: £280 (~€325)
- Bucharest: £284 (~€330)
- Istanbul: £290 (~€337)
- Lanzarote: £303 (~€352)
- Larnaca, Cyprus: £305 (~€354)
- Athens: £308 (~€358)
- Marrakesh: £322 (~€374)
- Funchal (Madeira): £328 (~€381)
- and more…
You can fly from any airport that British Airways flies to (the prices may fluctuate a bit).
- Bronze (Oneworld Ruby): 225 Tier Points = 1 roundtrip = £258 (~€300)
- Silver (Oneworld Sapphire): 450 Tier Points = 2 roundtrips = £516 (~€599)
- Gold (Oneworld Emerald): 1125 Tier Points = 5 roundtrips = £1,290 (~€1,499)
If you need less tier points, as you maybe already have some on your account, you can save some money by flying directly from London. By the way, by staying at the Radisson Blu at the airport, you can park your car there for up to 15 days:

You can fly until the end of March 2021. There doesn’t seem to be a minimum or maximum stay requirement. Flying both directions in a single day, however, does not seem to be possible.
