An Air Baltic Airbus A220-300 will take you from Riga to Amsterdam. All other flights are operated by Etihad: A Boeing 777 flies between Amsterdam and Abu Dhabi. Passengers to Phuket can enjoy Etihad’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, while passengers to Male will board an Airbus A320 family aircraft.

Search & Book

Fare rules state little more than an expirationdate for this deal, which is June 24, 2019. Since these flights are displayed on Google Flights we can definetly name some limitations. This fare only applies to flights leaving Latvia on Monday through Thursday. Further, all possible travel dates are in September or October.

The best way to find these fares is looking for suiting flight dates on Google Flights (instructions) and booking them through either an online travel agencey via skyscanner or at etihad.com, which is about €50 more expensive.

Mileage

Flights are ticketed in booking class T. Frequent flyer programs cooperating with Etihad will credit 25% of the distance as award miles.

Information & Tips for Phuket

Phuket is a southern province and also the largest island of Thailand in Southeast Asian. While Bangkok is more of a tourist destination, Phuket offers a lot of recreational options on the beach and is located in the Indian Ocean rather than the Gulf of Thailand.

Although Phuket is not always as easy to reach as Bangkok and it will often take an additional layover to get there, you can combine your beach holiday with a city trip to Bangkok. You can first book your flights to Bangkok and then separate (cheap!) flights from Bangkok to Phuket if you really can’t find a good deal from Europe.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to travel is from November to February. During this time it is dry and comparatively cool but of course still ideal for a beach holiday. The rainy season runs from mid-May to October.

From/to the airport

From the airport to different cities/resorts on the island, it is best to take a taxi (or Uber). Bus connections are cheaper but also much slower.
