Etihad and Avis are currently offering a spectacular offer for all Etihad Guest members. With just one rental in e.g. Europe or North America, you can secure a whopping 25,000 miles at the Etihad Guest frequent flyer program.
The prerequisite is that the rental lasts at least 3 days. You must also rent at least a Group C car (e.g. VW Golf). The price for that, e.g. in Mallorca, starts at €67 for 3 days. A 3-day rental + 25,000 miles at this price? It certainly won’t get any better.
Etihad Guest offered a similar offer last August (only 20,000 miles). It did not go without flaws, as many members are still waiting for their miles.
Conditions
The key data of the offer is quickly explained. Above all, the rental period (November to December 2022) is important. You have to rent a group C car for at least 3 days (compact class with navigation, e.g. VW Golf). In addition, the deal is only valid three times per person, i.e. you can get a maximum of 75,000 miles.
The following is the most important information from the fine print:
- Booking period: October 28 to 31, 21:59 CET
- Rental period: November 1 to December 23, 2022
- Applies (probably) only when booking via the landing page
- For rentals in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, the USA (excluding Alaska) and Canada only
- Only applies to rentals in group C and above
- Minimum rental period: 3 days
- Miles will only be awarded if the primary renter and Etihad account holder are the same
- Limited to a maximum of 3 rentals per person
- Miles will be credited 4-6 weeks after the car is returned
- No corporate / AWD rate may be used for the mileage credit
- This does not apply to Avis Prestige, Avis Signature Series and Avis Select Series

- Etihad Guest miles will be awarded on rentals made for a maximum length of 28 consecutive days. Any additional days will not be eligible to earn Etihad Guest miles.
- Miles per USD spent will be awarded on the base rental rate (time and mileage only) and not on taxes, fuel or additional fees.
- Miles can only be earned on one loyalty programme for each qualifying self-drive rental at participating locations.
- Etihad Guest members will be eligible to earn Miles only if the full name in the rental agreement matches the full name in the membership account.
- Renters can only claim Miles for their own rentals, i.e. only one rental at a time. Consecutive or conjunctive rentals will not qualify for Etihad Guest Miles – only the first qualifying rental in such situations will be awarded miles.
- To qualify, rentals must include the Etihad Guest membership number of the first named driver (the “renter) at the time of reservation. The Etihad Guest membership card must be presented at the location during vehicle pick-up.
- Discount and mileage accruals are based strictly on non-contracted rates only.
- Rentals made using Avis contracted (corporate/government) rates/AWDs, chauffeur-drive, or van rentals do not qualify for promotional/bonus Etihad Guest Miles. Travel industry staff rates, replacement/insurance rates, selected association programmes, and net rate programmes do not qualify for this promotion.
- This promotion is not valid on Avis Prestige, Avis Signature Series and Avis Select Series rentals worldwide.
- If any other AWD number is present in the rental booking no bonus Etihad Guest miles will be awarded.
- If any other AWD number is present in a customer’s Avis Preferred profile and this is used in the rental booking no bonus Etihad Guest miles will be awarded and once booked this cannot be reversed.
- Renter must meet standard Avis age, driver and credit requirements and advance booking is required.
- Missing mileage claims must be made within 180 days of the conclusion of each qualifying rental. To claim missing miles, original Car Rental Agreement copy is required. Members are required to retain copies of these until miles are credited to members’ accounts.

From November 8 to 11, you can rent a car in Palma, Mallorca for €58. However, you have to book at least category C for the promotion. In this case, it is the Ford Focus (or similar) for the price of €67:

Redeeming Etihad Miles
25,000 miles sounds a lot – and it is. For example, you can get a Brussels – Washington D.C. business class ticket for 44,000 miles one-way. In addition, you’d pay taxes and fees of roughly €300.
Alternatively, you can fly in American Airlines’ first (or business) class from Europe to North America or vice versa for just 50,000 miles. However, only on the non-stop routes. It should be noted, however, that you can only book both airlines via the Etihad hotline.
