Latvian carrier Air Baltic offers cheap flights from Amsterdam to Kazakhstan’s most populous city Almaty. Roundtrips start at €260 with a layover in Riga. These flights are only available in October 2019, just before the blistering cold of winter hits Almaty.
Sadly, this fare does not include hold luggage. It can be added at €50 per flight on Air Baltic’s website. This is still a very cheap flight to an exotic destination – aboard one of Europe’s youngest fleets.
All flights in question are operated by Air Baltic’s Airbus A220-300 fleet. Most of these planes are less than a year old. These brand new planes are the rebranding of Bombadiers C-Series 300 after Airbus purchased the rights to produce them from Bombardier.
