What makes this fare even better: It includes a checked bag up to 23 kg and full board service.

As of today, Ethiopian Airlines operates these flights with a Boeing 787-8 on behalf of Air Madagascar. From the end of August, a leased HiFly Airbus A330-900NEO handles these flights. It features a 3-3-3 seating pattern in economy class instead of the industry standard 2-4-2. You might miss the few square centimeters of space dearly during two eleven hour flights.

Air Madagascar has received mixed reviews on TripAdvisor. Main problems are the airlines’ reliability, especially on domestic flights.

Destination

Most European citizens will need a visa to enter Madagascar. A tourist eVisa will allow you to stay up to sixty days on the island at the cost of approx. €40. You can apply for the visa and find further information here. You may also apply for a visa on arrival after disembarking. It is valid for up to sixty days, as well, and slightly cheaper than an eVisa.

Hotel prices in Antananarivo usually start at roughly €30, depending on the hotel category. Whichever category and hotel you opt for, make sure to get the best price! Our recommendation is to search on booking.com, or even on our own Travel-Dealz hotel search:
