After Oneworld started selling business class tickets from Spain to the USA for €1,260 and SkyTeam lowered the prices even further, selling the flights for €1,052, now Star Alliance member Air Canada has decided to settle somewhere in between. Air Canada is selling business class flights to the USA and Canada for roughly €1,250 – however, you can get these flights for only €1,113 if you book at an OTA via Skyscanner.
There’s high availability from mid-February through June, as long as you fly Sunday through Wednesday. You cannot fly Thursday through Saturday.
The flights are cheapest from Barcelona:
- Toronto: €1,113
- Quebec: €1,118
- Montreal: €1,126
- Seattle: €1,126
- New York: €1,128
- Houston: €1,180
- Orlando: €1,182
- Boston: €1,184
- Philadelphia: €1,184
- Washington: €1,184
- Dallas: €1,186
- San Francisco: €1,189
- Miami: €1,189
- Tampa: €1,197
- Chicago: €1,205
- Los Angeles: €1,230
You can also fly from Bilbao for €1,131 or Madrid for €1,139. If you’re flying from Bilbao, you will first fly to Munich with Lufthansa, and then continue your trip with Air Canada from there. All flights have a layover in Canada, either in Montreal or Toronto.
We expect further shakeups in the airline industry over the following months. Some services might be cancelled, aircraft changed or downgraded. The schedule we describe may very well change.
Flights within Canada are often sold in economy class. It is usually possible, though, to get those short segments in business class too by paying a small surcharge. In any case, 2 x 23 kg of luggage is always included.

This fare can be booked until August 31, 2021 for departures before June 30, 2022. The minimum stay requirement is of 6 days. Furthermore, your stay cannot exceed 3 months. The business class tickets have to be booked at least 180 days before departure. Stopovers are not permitted. These flights can’t be canceled, but can be rebooked without having to pay a rebooking fee.
Google Flights shows all available dates, however, displaying the price that you’d pay on Air Canada’s website. To book the cheapest flights, use our form above, which will redirect you to Skyscanner.
The business class tickets are issued in booking class P, while domestic flights in Canada are issued in booking class Y if you’re flying those in economy class. To give you an example, flying to Seattle from Barcelona with a layover in Montreal (and back), would get you:
- 23,944 Kilometers on Air China PhoenixMiles

- 23,804 Miles on Aegean Miles+Bonus
- 17,854 Miles on GOL Aéreos Smiles
- 17,854 Miles on Air Canada Aeroplan
- 17,854 Miles on Copa ConnectMiles
- 17,854 Award Miles + 3,570 PQP on United MileagePlus

Aegean Miles+Bonus and United MileagePlus are probably the best options to credit these flights. In fact, both MileagePlus and Thai’s Royal Orchid Plus program would directly give you the (rather worthless) Star Alliance Silver status.
