For Black Week, Accor has brought back a popular offer from previous years. Those who purchase a gift card for selected hotels will receive a 20% bonus on the card value, resulting in approximately 17% off.
This time, you can purchase the following gift card values:
- €60 gift card for €50
- €120 gift card for €100
- €300 gift card for €250
The offer is valid until November 27, 2023. The gift cards remain valid for 5 years after purchase and can be used on-site like cash, with any remaining balance retained. In comparison to previous promotions, It’s worth noting that the gift card is not just valid for hotels in the United Kingdom but also for hotels in Switzerland, Poland, Greece, the Netherlands, and Germany
You can find the complete list of all 382 participating hotels here. The range covers all the chains from Accor from Ibis Budget to luxury hotels from Sofitel or SO/.
Conditions of the promotion
You can use the vouchers for all services at the listed hotels, meaning that in addition to the room rate, they can also be used for the minibar and restaurant visits, for example. Previously, an overnight stay at the hotel was required; however, this restriction has now been removed.
It is unclear, however, on what basis the currency conversion takes place when staying in Switzerland or the United Kingdom. According to the terms, it should be possible, in principle, to redeem the vouchers at all listed hotels, regardless of the printed currency.
Further conditions you need to consider:
- Only valid at selected Accor hotels, see the list as a PDF.
- At the top of the Accor page, there is a search form that includes only a fraction of the participating hotels (and also incorrectly assigns Switzerland to Germany). You can safely disregard this.
- If the voucher is only partially redeemed, the remaining amount is retained.
- The gift card is only redeemable for direct bookings, e.g., via accor.com or directly at the hotel (not through third-party providers such as Booking.com, Expedia, etc.).
- The voucher can also be redeemed for prepaid rates. Any advance payments will then be refunded to the credit card.
- The voucher must be presented at check-in and check-out.
- The voucher can be printed or shown on a smartphone.
- The voucher is valid for five years after purchase (formerly only 3 years).
- Payment for gift vouchers is only possible with Visa or MasterCard.
- Multiple vouchers can be ordered at the same time.
- You have the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal. After that, no returns are possible.
Additionally, it is advisable to review the terms and conditions and the FAQ on Accor‘s website. However, not all questions will be answered there.
Conclusion
Receiving a 17% discount on hotel stays is definitely a good reason to make an upfront investment. Those who regularly stay at one of the participating hotels can save a few euros here and there, especially as the vouchers can be combined with all discount offers.
