U.S. Travel Association Daily Getaways: Buy Hotel Points and Vouchers at Excellent Prices

Once a year, the U.S. Travel Association runs its Daily Getaways promotion. During this time, member cooperations sell special points packages and vouchers through the USTA website, with the earnings benefitting the organization.

While you can also buy tickets for Universal Studios Orlando, hotel packages at Casino hotels in Las Vegas or Reno and much more, the most appealing offers are usually the hotel bonus points on sale.

April 15, 2024: Hilton Honors

• Available Offers:

Bottom Line: The value of Hilton Points got worse and worse over the last years. The Daily Getaway price is the same as the one during regular points sales. However, points purchased during the Getaway’s don’t count against Hilton’s cap of 320,000 bought points per year, making it possible to save on luxury hotels.

April 16, 2024: IHG One Rewards

Bottom Line: The price is nothing out of the ordinary. Anyone looking for IHG Points should feel free to buy them.

April 23, 2024: Marriott Bonvoy Vouchers 🔥

  • 252 x $250 voucher for US$200 (~€186), = 20% discount
  • 200 x $500 voucher US$400 (~€373), = 20% discount

Bottom Line: A good offer for Marriott regulars. According to the terms & conditions, it should be possible to redeem the voucher at non-US-properties, too. The value depends on the exchange rate.

April 29, 2024: Choice Privileges 🔥

Bottom Line: Sadly, prices for some of the formerly most attractive reward nights were doubled this year. Nonetheless, prices for reward nights in Australia, Japan and Scandinavia remain appealing. How about €40 for a night in Japan, or €80 in Svalbard? Last year, the Choice Privilege points were sold out within minutes.

May 1, 2024: Wyndham Rewards

• Best price of the last 12 months: 0.86 cpm

Bottom Line: A bad offer. Wyndham has more attractive sales on a regular basis, and Wyndham Rewards points are pretty useless to begin with.

US Mailing Address Required

If you are interested in any of the offers, please note that you need to provide a US based mailing address during payment, as these offers are primarily targeted at a US audience.

Since the vouchers are all distributed digitally, you can simply take the address of any hotel in the United States. Your credit card payment will be in US-Dollars. This means two things: Firstly, not every European issued credit card will be accepted during purchased. Secondly, it pays off to use a card with little or free currency conversion.
