Having internet access on your smartphone in distant countries is usually very expensive if you use your local internet contract. If you have a smartphone, e.g. iPhone (e.g. XS, XR, 11, 12, 13, SE 2), you can surf the internet using an eSIM. Nomad provides the eSIM via their iOS app and provides you with affordable fares depending on the country or region.
With this promo code, you will receive a $3 discount when purchasing a plan:
In the first half of 2024, you can also get a 10% discount on plans of 10GB or more:
Nomad offers data plans for over 100 countries worldwide, usually for 7 – 60 days. In addition, with the Global Plan, there is a plan that is independent of the country. In our large eSIM comparison, Nomad is seldomly the cheapest provider, but shines by being more reliable than others.
You can easily check and compare Nomad’s fares with our eSIM comparison. Please note that the discount given by the codes above is not reflected:
Our Experience with Nomad eSIMs
Our editor Peer recently used a Nomad eSIM while travelling around Japan. He noted the following about the provider:
“When I travelled to the land of the rising sun previously, I was rather disappointed with the service provided by Airalo – which did not work properly outside Osaka and Sendai. I decided to give Nomad a try during my next visit. In contrast to the other provider, Nomad’s eSIM worked without any hiccups, the entire time. In Japan, Nomad partners with mobile service provider Softbank. Both speed and coverage were good during my entire journey, and the price of US$13 (~€12) for 3 GB of data was reasonable.
The lone complaint I can give: Because my smartphone is not eSIM compatible by itself, I am using an eSIM.me to make it work. That led to me being unable to purchase a data package through Nomad’s app, since the program stubbornly complained that my phone was not eSIM compatible and barred me from making a purchase. However, after purchasing the package through a web browser, it ultimately worked smoothly, as described above.”

Immernoch viel zu teuer. Gibt Anbieter, die 1 bis 3 Euro pro GB verlangen.
