After selecting your room and rate, you are proceeded onto the payment and personal info page. Click on the Apply a coupon code window underneath the price summary. Here you can enter your coupon code:
Click Apply, and the discounted amount should be displayed right away. If that is not the case, an error message explaining why the coupon is not applicable (i.e. wrong dates, excluded hotel, expired coupon, etc.) should appear.
Tip: Sometimes the Apply button is not clickable for some reason, in this case enter a space after the coupon code and try again – this should resolve the issue!
Sadly, these coupons won’t work for many hotel brands.
5 Advices for Booking at Hotels.com
When booking a hotel at Hotels.com, you should know the following tricks:
1. Hotels.com Rewards: 10 Nights = one Free Night
When you book 10 nights in one of their participating hotels at Hotels.com, you’ll get a free night. This is definitely interesting if you travel a lot, as the rates are usually quite cheap.
The credit that you’ll get for your free night is calculated based on the average price that you paid for you last 10 nights. If your hotel costs more than that, you can simply pay the price difference. That results in a discount of max. 9.1% for each night you book.

You won’t collect a stamp if you use a coupon. Hotels that already have an applied discount, however, are eligible.

2. Earn Points at Hotel Brands?
Hotels.com offers a wide selection of hotels, including various brands, such as Hilton, InterContinental, Accor Hotels, Marriott, and many others. If you want to earn points and status nights at those brands’ own loyalty programs, you should book directly on the hotel’s website, and not on Hotels.com! The Hotels.com coupons are also usually not applicable for those hotels.
Almost all hotel loyalty programs will not give you points if you book on Hotels.com. Usually, the official booking site of those hotels will give their members a further discount.

3. Book Hotels Without a Credit Card
Most hotels, especially abroad, will expect a credit card. While there are many permanently free credit cards, if you still want to book a hotel without a credit card, you can do that on Hotels.com.
To do that, once you’ve selected a room, you’ll only have to click on Pay in full online when asked Choose when you’d like to pay and you can then directly pay with, e.g. PayPal.
