Expedia Issues Four 75% Discount Vouchers for Hotels on Friday

On Friday, November 29 (and most likely again on Cyber Monday) booking portal Expedia issues four voucher codes that grant an awesome 75% discount (with a maximum discount of €450) on hotel bookings. The catch: The code can be redeemed only four times on Expedia.de and every other country side. So they are usually used within seconds!

This is actually more of a lottery than a promotion. We gladly show you how to increase your chances. Still, they remain slim. This article is a hint, not a promise.

This year, you can only participate via Expedia’s smartphone app. This makes it much more complicated than in past years, because you need to first redeem the voucher code and then enter it within split seconds after retrieving it. The best way to score the discount anyway is to use two different phones with a readymade booking page already open on one of them.

Global Times & Countries

This promotion is not limited to the German version Expedia.de. If you use the different time zones to your advantage, you can try your luck more than once (it does help to understand a foreign language or two). Here is an overview of when the vouchers will be available on which site (times are MEST = UTC+1):

Most chain hotels are excluded from this offer. Further, you can only redeem coupon codes if you select Pay Now. The promotion is valid for stays until end of March 2020.

When using the app, you can switch countries within the My Account menu. You can only redeem a voucher code in the country in which your account is currently registered. You need to create an account before the promotion starts.

How to increase your chance to score an Expedia 75% discount voucher

  1. Grab a friend or a second smart phone!

    You will need two smart phones to make this work.

  2. Open your expedia app and select a hotel on smart phone 1.

    You need to be logged in to your expedia account and select the country version for which the codes will be issued. Fill in the booking form and payment details. Open the box to enter a promo code (if it does not appear, the hotel you’ve selected is not part of any promo).

  3. Open the expedia app on smart phone 2.

    Open the expedia on smart phone 2 in the exact moment the promo code is published. Enter it as quickly as you can in the ready-to-go booking on smart phone 1. If the code is accepted, complete the booking as fast as possible.
