Today we bring you an ideal deal if you’re considering a round-the-world trip, we found three combinations, to travel from Auckland, New Zealand to California (San Francisco or Los Angeles) starting at NZ$645 (~€359).

When flying via Hawaii with Hawaiian Airlines, you have the option for a stopover on Oahu, providing the opportunity to visit Waikiki Beach and explore other islands in the archipelago. For travel via Tahiti with Star Alliance members Air New Zealand and United Airlines, a stopover in the French archipelago allows time to visit Bora Bora or engage in diving activities. The third option is flying via Fiji with Fiji Airways where you can enjoy their water at a fraction of the cost compared to a gourmet supermarket.

Here are the combinations to get this deal:

• Auckland – Papeete – San Francisco at NZ$1,000 (~€556)

You can find availability for these deals between January and June, except blackout dates during school holidays in New Zealand and the United States.

For Fiji, July is the only month when we couldn’t find good prices, along with Tahiti. With Hawaii, there are only flights available until early April due to the end of Hawaiian’s route. As for Tahiti, we’ve found options available until July.

Routings & Equipment

Hawaii: You will fly both ways on Hawaiian Airlines Airbus 330 with a 2-4-2 economy class configuration.

This flight to Hawaii operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays and includes 2 bags up to 23 kg on the flight to Honolulu, but you will have to pay for your luggage to California.

Fiji: First, you will fly with Fiji Airways Airbus 330 with a 2-4-2 economy class configuration, and for the second leg of the trip to California, you will travel with Fiji Airways Airbus 350 with a 3-3-3 economy class configuration.

In this case, if both flights are daily and your stay is more than 3 days, the price will increase by around NZ$100 (~€56).

Tahiti: You will fly both ways on a Boeing 787 with a 3-3-3 economy class configuration – first with Air New Zealand and then with United.

This flight to Tahiti with Air New Zealand operates on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays and includes one checked bag up to 23 kg. The flight from Papeete to San Francisco with United operates on Tuesdays, and from Thursday to Sunday, and it’s a red-eye flight.

You could fly for around a hundred euros less with French Bee, but it’s a low-cost airline. Ultimately, you won’t earn miles, and after paying for extras like luggage and seat selection, you might end up spending more money than with United.

Hawaii: The expiration date of this deal is until January 10, and the travel period is until April 2.

Fiji: This fare doesn’t have an expiration date, and the stopover in Fiji can be up to one year.

Tahiti: The fare doesn’t have an expiration date but has a travel period from January 27 through March 26, or May 3 through June 23, or July 25 through September 19, or October 27 through December 10.

Flights booked through the airlines websites may be more expensive than those available on OTAs, so in this case, we recommend comparing prices with both the airline and Skyscanner to ensure you get the best deal.

Hawaii: These flights are issued by Hawaiian Airlines in booking class Z for the flight to Hawaii and booking class O for the flight to California. Here are the miles and points you could earn with this deal.

Tahiti: The flight with Air New Zealand to Papeete is issued in booking class S, and the flight with United to San Francisco is issued in booking class L.

Fiji: These flights are issued by Fiji Airways in booking class V. Here are the miles and points you could earn with this deal.
